In NSW, all food businesses must notify their local council before commencing food handling activities. This is a legal requirement under the Food Act 2003 (NSW). The process is called food business notification and is managed through the NSW Food Authority's online portal.

Step-by-step registration process

Step 1: Determine your food business category (retail, manufacturing, catering, mobile, etc.)
